Restaurant Cafe Nuss in Grainau

This restaurant a hidden gem in Grinau. The most welcoming service I’ve found so far in Germany. Very helpful and understanding with our very limited German. The food was simply delicious. We ordered a small salad, goulash, Jagërschnitzel with mushrooms and apfelstrudel. Food was brought very quickly, and portions were definitely well sized. I would definitely come back. Both for the food and the service.

The cream puffs are the HAMMER (see picture) The staff CLASS. The prices FAIR. The place GRAINAU worth several visits.

Excellent cake, traditionally served coffee & cocoa and nice staff, but only four stars due to the horrendous prices.

Positive: Large room, own restaurant with tasty dishes. The room is very clean and was always cleaned very quickly by very friendly staff Not that great: Breakfast only from 7:30 a.m., not necessarily the friendliest service at work. Closed on Thursdays, i.e. no reception staff and no restaurant open. The guest will only be informed of this on a note at breakfast. Especially at the time of Corona, all restaurants nearby are fully booked and you have to reserve a table a day in advance, which is so difficult. All in all, I can still recommend it

Delicious food, meat was nice and tender and for a change a decent portion of real vegetables (next to a bowl of salad). The dessert ('Windbeutel') was very tasty and without revealing anything, a real recommendation !!

I am rating the restaurant here. We were outside in the evening. The food was very good and the service courteous. The ambience is nice and you can linger.

Rating refers to the cafe / restaurant. Very friendly and attentive service. Very good handling of the current Corona / Covid19 situation. The cream puff is recommended.

Excellent efficient and polite service! Welcomed us in on a busy Sunday and offered service above and beyond for us non-German speaking Americans with three young children. Dessert was amazing but the biggest asset for this warm cozy authentic tasty Bavarian fare restaurant is the pleasant and friendly service.

An onion roast beef with fried potatoes and a venison goulash with bread dumplings were ordered. In both dishes, the meat was extremely tender and the quantity was sufficient. During Corona time it is advisable to reserve a table in advance, as many seats are taken due to a lack of space. Service was friendly and the food was served after 20 minutes. In short, we were very satisfied. Gladly again.

We are merciless repeat offenders. Everything is just right here. Starting with the really fast, friendly and well-organized service, the most delicious roast pork ever, atmosphere, price / performance ratio, to the balanced portion size. We already know the card by heart and will definitely come back.

All of Grainau is a map-free zone. Card payments are only accepted in Cafe Nuss. However, only from 30 euros. The apple pie was very good. Prices are moderate. The service was a bit off track, but that can happen. Only: either card payment or no card payment.

The recession relates to the restaurant: Food is okay on average, but came quickly and the sizes are good. The service is totally overwhelmed and you wait forever, the other waiter pounds on the guests. Better go somewhere else.

The cafe wasn't even full. After 20 minutes without service we left again. You only get the 2nd star because the atmosphere itself was okay. ⚠️ If you look at my other reviews you can see that I am really seriously and honestly evaluating ... ⚠️

The food was very good. We can only recommend the schnitzel plate and the cheese spaetzle. Our waitress (almost a grandma) was super nice. The one who received us was a bit rough.

Even without a reservation spontaneously get a table for 3 and that outside, with the wonderful weather !!! Just a little look at the inn that looks very rustic and cozy. The drinks came quickly and so did the food. The lemonade and the beer very good and the food too. Nice audience and friendly hosts and employees. I suspect that access to the toilets is barrier-free, but have not tried it. We would love to come back here again.

Service was friendly, food was delivered quickly and the portion sizes were just right. I didn't like Käsespätzle, but that's a matter of taste. All in all, you can have a good dinner here.

I had the pork loin steak for just under € 15, a children's portion with salty French fries. The steak was dry. I had ordered a shandy to go with it and only got one beer! When I asked the service staff about it, there was only a snotty answer that it was a cyclist. Not again

The cake in the cafe was delicious! Cappuccino came from the fully automatic machine. But Yolo. Not so bad! Service was fun and friendly. Ambience is cozy!

We were in the restaurant / cafe for dinner and were really more than satisfied. The dishes were delicious (and extremely quick at the table), the furnishings cozy and the service friendly, what more could you want ?! Gladly again soon.

Nice bavarian style village restaurant, but due to busy dinner time it took 15 minutes just to get menus..

Lovely traditional family run hotel. Rooms are exeptionally claen and well kept. Good Wi-Fi connection everywhere in the building. Varied menu but also Half/Full Board possible. We use this place as a start point for our Trans Alp MTB tour for 7 years now. Totally reccomend!

Rude Staff. No one was interested when i walked into the restaurant with my wife. No one asked if we need anything although there were three employees and not too many costumers. After waiting a while i went and asked the Bartender can we have a table for two. He said that we can sit where we like. When we approched the table and started to remove our Jackets Weitress came and put on the table reservation card, then she left without saying anything completly ignoring my wife and me.

Perfect location. Very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely recommend!!
